Have you ever found yourself away from home, and suddenly you realized that it is quickly approaching the final time for Mincha? You may be in a car, your office or a friends home. If you are like most people, at best, you will approximate the direction for East, and start davening. ButEast is not the direction for Jerusalem. However, it is the direction for China, and Syria!

Many times due to building regulations, the engineer is not able to build the Shul with the Ark facing in the right direction.

Are you aware that the Mitzvah is not to face the Ark, but rather to face Jerusalem? Even if the custom of the Shul is not to turn away from the Ark, and to face together with everyone towards the Ark, the Mishna Brurah states that one should turn their head in the direction of Jerusalem.

Using my Kosher Compass right before davening has actually improved my focus and concentration. By knowing that I am really facing towards Yerushalyim, I feel as if I am so how more connected to the source
